Mascara Tips

Mascara is so important!! Here are a few tips on applying, lengthening and creating a full looking lash!

First things first.. This may be a shock to a lot of you but IT DOES NOT MATTER THE BRAND YOU USE! Honestly so many people think you have to buy the most expensive nicest marcara.. good news YOU DON'T! Its all about the application process! I always buy my mascara from either walmart or target and use very black. The kind I've been loving lately is called 'Lash Stiletto' by Maybeline.

Don't under estimate the importance of an eyelash curler. Always curl your eye lashes before applying your mascara. This opens up your eyes and makes them look wider. When curling your lashes start at the base and pull out and then up. This will give the natural curl look instead of your lashes going straight up.

Step one - Pull out the wand in one motion, pumping introduces air to the tube and this can lead to drying it out. It can also allow bacteria to enter. Make sure both the wand and the edge of the tube are clean or you won’t get a smooth application.

Step two - As you are closing your eyes slowly wiggle the wand left to right at the base of lashes in a fast motion (feels like your hand is shaking). It's the mascara placed near the roots - not the tips - that gives the illusion of length. Use the wand at an angle to add more cure and definition.

Step three - Pull the wand up and through lashes, wiggling as you go. The wiggling part is key because it separates lashes. It feels strange but it works!! Most people apply mascara while they blink over and over again but its the wiggling quickly that does the trick not the blinking!!

Step four - Close the eye and place the mascara wand on top of lashes at the base and pull through to remove any clumps. This also gives your lashes some depth and a darker more bold look.

Step five - Use a lot less mascara, and start at the lower eyelid. Slowly pull down, to colour the lower eyelashes. Start light and you can always add more if you want a more dramatic look.

Always apply a second coat!!
